PREP GUIDE FOR YOUR BABIES CAKE SMASH SESSION
Congratulations!Your baby is turning ONE! Cake smash sessions are a wonderful way to celebrate and document your Childs first Birthday! Here are a few tips to help you prepare for your upcoming session. If at ANY time you have questions feel free to reach out!
WHAT I PROVIDE:
- custom cake smash design with all the bells and whistles
- floors and backdrops for timeless photos
- optional wardrobe for babies
- optional splash n play after smash
- towels & hypoallergenic soap (or bring your own)
- spatula / wooden spoon
- paper towels & wet wipes
- bubbles
- cake stands
- plastic bag for clothes
WHAT YOU PROVIDE:
- cake (I am happy to pick up if placed locally)
- 2 outfits if you do not want to use mine (shoes optional)
- favorite snacks (puffs, cheerios..)
- sippie cup to help wash down cake
- favorite music and or toy
- towels / soap if your baby has sensitives
- optional cake topper (they last about 1 minute lol)
WEEK OF SESSION PREP:
- let your baby practice smashing a cupcake (helps prevent sticker shock day of session)
- if bringing your own outfits make sure they fit baby properly!
- parents need to dress in clothing that they don’t mind getting dirty with cake/frosting
- let me know if baby is not feeling themselves in case we need to reschedule – an unhappy baby = lousy photos!
AFTER THE SESSION:
Your images will be ready within 1 week of your session date in most cases! I send over a private online viewing gallery were you can download your images and print as you wish. There is also an online shopping cart that allows you to purchase prints and have them shipped directly to your home. I also offer custom one year baby books, gallery canvas, wood prints, brag books and more!
CAKE:
I highly recommend purchasing your cake from either ladies below, I am happy to pick up the day prior or morning of your session.

When you order you are welcome to send them any photos you find online of a cake you would like, I also send you ideas.
Cake batter needs to be white/yellow and frosting is always buttercream. Avoid harsh colors like dark blue, green red. A simple cream frosted cake works for any cake smash setup.
Toppers are optional and I always remove them after a few photos as they get in way and or can poke child.
